Is Our Qurbani Shariah Compliant? The Complete Verification Guide
Every Muslim who gives Qurbani online asks the same core question before booking: is this service actually Shariah compliant? It is the right question to ask. Your Qurbani is an act of worship, not a commercial transaction, and the conditions that make it valid are non-negotiable.
This article addresses that question for Qurbani for Unity systematically, going through every Shariah condition one by one and explaining exactly how we meet it.
Shariah Condition 1: Valid Animal Species and Age
We use goats, sheep, cows, and camels. All animals are from our own farm and have verified ages. Goats and sheep are minimum 1 year old. Cows are minimum 2 years old. Camels are minimum 5 years old. We have records for all animals. No market animals with unverifiable ages are used.
Condition met: Yes, with documentation.
Shariah Condition 2: Animal Health and Freedom from Disqualifying Defects
Our animals are health-monitored throughout their time on our farm. No animal with blindness, severe lameness, extreme emaciation, or serious illness is designated for Qurbani. Our farm manager conducts a final health check before each animal is confirmed for its order.
Condition met: Yes, through continuous farm monitoring.
Shariah Condition 3: Correct Time Window
All Qurbani is performed after the Eid prayer on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah (27 May 2026) and completed within the 10th to 12th Dhul Hijjah window. We do not slaughter before Eid prayer. We observe the Hanafi-approved three-day window.
Condition met: Yes, confirmed per our operational schedule.
Shariah Condition 4: Individual Bismillah
Bismillah Allahu Akbar is said by our slaughterer for each individual animal immediately before the cut. This is not a group invocation for a batch. It is said once for each specific sacrifice.
Condition met: Yes. This is a non-negotiable policy at Qurbani for Unity.
Shariah Condition 5: Muslim Slaughterer
All slaughter is performed by adult Muslim men. No non-Muslim participates in the actual slaughter act. Our team members are practising Muslims who understand the religious weight of the act they are performing.
Condition met: Yes.
Shariah Condition 6: Established Niyyah
Your niyyah name is recorded in our order system before any slaughter begins. The slaughterer confirms the niyyah (intention for the specific person) before performing each sacrifice. This is the mechanism that connects your intention in the USA or UK to the act performed in Pakistan.
Condition met: Yes, through our order management system.
Every condition that Islamic jurisprudence requires for a valid Qurbani is met by Qurbani for Unity. This is not a claim we make lightly. It is the foundation of everything we do. [LINK: /qurbani-slaughter-process]

| Has your process been endorsed by a scholar? We are in the process of obtaining formal scholar endorsement for our process. In the meantime, the conditions we meet are those agreed upon across all four major schools of Islamic jurisprudence. Any qualified Islamic scholar reviewing our process will find it meets the established conditions for valid Qurbani. |
| Are you certified as halal? Our slaughter process follows the prescribed Islamic method for halal slaughter: Bismillah said, cut made to the neck severing windpipe and blood vessels, animal bled fully. This is the definition of dhabihah (halal slaughter) as specified in Islamic law. |
